# Explain with the help of Einstein’s photoelectric equation any two observed features in photoelectric effect which cannot be explained by wave theory.

Einstein's photoelectric equation is given by

$h\nu=\phi +\frac{1}{2}mv^{2}$

Where =  plank's constant

$h\nu$ =  energy of the photon

$\nu$ =  frequency of proton

$\phi$ = work function

$\frac{1}{2}mv^{2}$= kinetic energy of the electron

The above equation implies that the kinetic energy of emitted electrons is independent of intensity of light and a minimum threshold frequency is required for an electron to come out of the metal. Both of these are not explained by wave theory.
