Explain with the help of Einstein’s photoelectric equation any two observed features in photoelectric effect which cannot be explained by wave theory.
Einstein's photoelectric equation is given by
Where = plank's constant
= energy of the photon
= frequency of proton
= work function
= kinetic energy of the electron
The above equation implies that the kinetic energy of emitted electrons is independent of intensity of light and a minimum threshold frequency is required for an electron to come out of the metal. Both of these are not explained by wave theory.
