Find a quadratic polynomial whose sum and product of its zeroes are √2 and 1/3 respectively.

Answers (1)

In polynomial ax2 + bx + c =0

Sum of the roots (-b/a) = √2

Product of roots (c/a) = 1/3

Assume a = 1

x2 - √2 x + 1/3 =0

Hence the required polynomial is 3x2 - 3√2 x + 1 =0
