Let A be the area of a circle of radius r,then A=πr
herefore The rate of change of area A with respect to its radius r
=fracmathrmd Amathrmd r=pi .2r=2pi r
When r=3cm,fracmathrmd Amathrmd r=2pi imes3=6 pi
Hence the area of the circle is changing at the rate of 6pi cm^2/cm
