Find the zero of the following quadratic polynomial and verify the relationship between the zeros and the coefficient :​ i) x^2 - 4x + 3=0

Answers (1)

x2 - 4x + 3 = 0

x2 - 3x - x + 3 = 0

x(x - 3) -1 (x -3) =0

(x-3) ( x-1) =0 

x =3 or   x= 1

Sum of the roots = -b/a = -(-4)/1 =2

3 + 1 =4

Product of the roots = c/a = 3/1 =3

(-3) (-1) = 3
