For what value of n x^n+y^n is exactly divisible by (x+y)?

Answers (1)

Given:  f(x,y) = xn + yn  , is divisible by(x + y),

If f(x,y) is divisible by (x+y) than put x = - y in f(x,y) to get f(x,y) = 0
f(x,-x) = xn + (-x)n = 0
Therefore n should be any odd number.
