How are malignant tumours different from benign tumours ? Why are some patients treated with \alpha-interferons ?

Benign tumours remain restricted to their original location and do not spread to another part of the body but malignant tumours propagate and spread to other body parts.

Benign tumours cause little damage but malignant tumours are more harmful and cause serious damage.

Some patients treated with \alpha - interferons because it is a biological response modifier and activates the immune system to destroy the tumour.
