Basically, in this case, water acts as a solvent, and salt acts as a Non-Volatile Solute. When Non-Volatile Solute is being added to the Solvent, it becomes an Impure Solvent and raises its boiling point above that of pure solvents. Hence, adding salt to water will increase the boiling point.
