# How to change improper fraction to mixed when the quotient of the improper fraction is in decimal points.

An improper fraction is one in which the numerator is greater than or equal to the denominator. A Mixed Fraction is a combination of a whole number and a fraction.

To convert an improper fraction to mixed when the quotient of the improper fraction is in decimal points you can see this example

$Frac=\frac{57.36}{20}$

As there are 2 digits after decimal so multiply the Numerator and denominator by 100

$Frac=\frac{5736}{2000}$

than divide numerator by denominator up to which you do not get any remainder

$Frac=2\tfrac{1736}{2000}=2\tfrac{434}{500}$
