(i)\; n_{1}>n_{2}

    

 

BC=v_{1}\tau ,AE=v_{2}\tau

from \Delta ABC

\sin \; i=\frac{v_{1}\tau }{AC}

From \Delta AEC

\sin r=\frac{v_{2}\tau}{AC}

\frac{\sin i}{\sin r}=\frac{V_{1}}{V_{2}} -----(1)

Also n_{1}=\frac{C}{v_{1}},n_{2}=\frac{C}{v_{2}}

\frac{n_{2}}{n_{1}}=\frac{v_{1}}{v_{2}}------(2)

From (1) and (2)

\frac{\sin i}{\sin r}=\frac{n_{2}}{n_{1}}

n_{1}\sin i=n_{2}\sin r is Snell's law.
