Let the fraction be x/y

given 

\\\frac{x-1}{y}=\frac{1}{2}.........(1)

\\\frac{x+1}{y+1}=\frac{2}{3}........(2)

From (1)

2x-2=y

2x-y=2......(3)

From (2)

3(x+1)=2(y+1)

3x+3=2y+2

3x-2y=-1....(4)

From (3)

y=2x-2 put this in equation 4

3x-2(2x-2)=-1

3x-4x+4=-1

-x=-5

x=5

Put the value of x in (3)

2x-y=2

10-y=2

y=8

So the fraction is 5/8
