SOLUTION:  We have ,

\ f(u)=4u^2+8u\ \Rightarrow f(u)=4u(u+2)

The zeros of f(u) are given by, 

\ f(u)=0\ \Rightarrow 4u(u+2)=0

\ u=0;or ;u=-2
