\\\frac{x+1}{y-1}=1\ or\\x+1=y-1\\x-y=-2........(1)\\Also\ given\\\frac{x}{y+1}=\frac{1}{2}\ or\\2x=y+1\\2x-y=1.......(2)\\(2)-(1)\ implies\ \\x=3\\from (1)\\3-y=-2\\y=5\\\text{Therefore the fraction is }\\\\\frac{3}{5}
