# In a ceiling fan, each blade rotates in a circle of radius 0.5m. If the fan makes 2 rotations per second and the vertical component of the earth's magnetic field is $8 \times 10 ^{-5}T$, calculate the emf induced between the inner outer ends of each blade.

radius, R = 0.5m

Rotational speed = $2 rad/ sec$

Magnetic field = $8 \times 10 ^{-5}T$

We know that,

Induced emf $=\frac{1}{2}wBR^{2}$

$=\frac{1}{2}\times (2 \times \pi \times 2)\times (8 \times 10^{-5})\times (0.5)^{2}$

$=12.56 \times 10^{-5}V$
