In a country, 7/10 of the population are Chinese. 2/3 of the remainder are Malays and the rest are Indians. If there are 66,000 Indians, how many Chinese are there

Answers (1)

the fraction of indians=1-(7/10 + 2/3)=1-(41/30)=11/30

Given 11/30 of the population=66000

Total population=66000x(30/11)=180000

Number of chinese=(7/10)x180000=18000x7=126000
