Main points of Watson and Crick Model is : 

  • Each DNA molecule is double-stranded and helical in nature. 
  • Both strands together present ina twisted ladder shape originating from an imaginary axis and thus, providing helical shape. 
  • Longer arms are made of sugar and phosphate groups while the other arms are made of nitrogenous bases.
  • Phosphate molecule is attached with either 3rd or 5th C-atom of sugar via phosphodiester bond.
