State two important properties of photon which are used to write Einstein's photoelectric equation. Define (i) stopping potential and (ii) threshold frequency, using Einstein's equation and drawing necessary plot between relevant quantities.
Properties of Photon
(a) Each photon has an energy associated with it
(b) The energy of Photon is independent of the intensity of incident radiation.
(i) Stopping Potential is the retarding potential applied to the collector plate for which the photocurrent becomes zero.
(ii) Threshold frequency
The minimum frequency of incident radiation required to emit electrons from the given photosensitive surface.
