Fahien was the famous Chinese traveller, who came India during the reign of Chandragupt II. He visited sacred Buddhist sites in Central, South and South East Asia from 391 CE to 412 CE to acquire Buddhist texts. He wrote a book on his travels. He also wrote about some Indian cities like Taxila, Mathua, Patliputra and Kannouj. He had brought the Buddhist Sutra with him.
