a) Given,

Collecter to emitter voltage, $V_{CE}=10.0V$

Base current    $I_{b}=40\: \mu A$

From the graph,

when $I_{b}=40\: \mu A$$I_{c}=6\: m A$

The emitter current :

$I_{E}=I_C+I_B$

$=6\: mA+40\: \mu A$

$=6.04\: mA$

b) Current gain,

$\beta =\frac{I_C}{I_B}$

$\beta =\frac{6\times 10^{-3}}{40\times 10^{-6}}=150$

The current gain is 150.
