Things I can do for the development of rural India
The term rural is used for those parts of our country that are poor and underdeveloped and which are not accessible to us as they are present in remote areas. Rural areas are also backward in terms of technology and economically. When compared to their urban counterpart, the village area often lacks basic facilities. The mode of survival in rural areas are quite different from those in urban areas. These areas when compared to urban areas are backward and do not have access to a variety of things, resources, mode of living in urban areas. However, both rural and urban area have their peculiar qualities and they can learn from each other. Rural areas are thus, different from urban areas.
Things that can be done for the development of rural India and villages are firstly by developing infrastructure in village areas. The houses in village areas are made from wood, bamboos and other materials that make it a kachhha house. These houses during the time of heavy rainfall and other natural calamities such as flood and earthquake collapse. Thus, causing damage to people and their daily survival. The houses can be made from bricks and cement to protect them against harsh weather conditions. Another way to develop the infrastructure is by developing roads in the rural and village area. By building roads accessibility to remote areas can be increased. In villages and rural areas generally kachcha roads are present which breaks during heavier rainfall, earthquake and flood. Also, during the time of flood, drought, earthquake and other natural disasters it will be easier to reach rural and village areas to deliver safety kits and things important for survival.
Another thing that can be done for the development of rural India and villages are by building schools. As we know most of the people in village and rural areas are employed in agriculture. The children and their parents work in field. The children are made to contribute to village economy as soon as they grow up. Thus, sending children to school is not a priority for parents. In this situation aganwadis and schools can be developed in the rural areas where education can be provided to children for free. Along with this mid day meal can be provided to children so that they stay in schools. The children will thus be sent to aganwadis at the age of three to five years and later to school from six years to fourteen years. In the school facilities such as books, uniform and food will be provided for me. This way the responsibility of children's health, physical development will be taken by the government.
Other than this in village area economy is based on sustenance which means only that is produced and earned that is necessary for one's survival. People don't engage in work other than household and agricultural work. Thus, they don't have money in need during an emergency. Thus, some small industries such as fishing, bee keeping, handicrafts can be opened. People can be trained in these work for extra income and skill learning that will make them a productive member of society.
