Tooth enamel is one of the hardest substances in our body. How does it undergo damage due to eating chocolates and sweets?

Microorganisms are always present in the mouth. When we consume sweets, microorganisms convert the sugar into acid that causes the degradation of the teeth since it causes the enamel to loose potassium that is responsible for its strength.
