Two electric bulbs P and Q have their resistances in the ratio of 1: 2.
They are connected in series across a battery. Find the ratio of the power

        The resistance of Blub  P = Rp
          The resistance
 of Blub Q = Rq
Power dissipation of Blub P = Pp
Power dissipation of Blub Q = Pq
Given that the Ratio of resistance is

\frac{R_{p}}{R_{q}}= \frac{1}{2}
we know that,
    Power P= I^{2}R
When Resistance are connected in series the current through resistance are the same.
Therefore, the ratio of the power dissipation in the bulbs is
\frac{P_{p}}{P_{q}}= \frac{I^{2}R_{p}}{I^{2}Rq}= \frac{R_{p}}{R_{q}}= \frac{1}{2}
Therefore the ratio of power dissipations of both P and Q is 1 : 2
