The treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty, that brought World War I to an end. Treaty was signed on 28 June 1919 in the palace of Versailles between Germany and Allied Powers.
Because of this treaty Germany accepted the responsibility of Germany and his allies for causing all the loss a damage. Treaty prohibited merging of the Republic of German Austria with Germany without the consent of the League of Nations. Germany paid 50 billion gold marks. Treaty also forced Germany to give up territory to Belgium, Czechoslovakia and Poland.
