An integrated circuit (IC) is a small chip that can have the functionality of a timer, oscillator, amplifier, microprocessor, or even computer memory. An IC is usually made of silicon and is a small wafer that can hold around hundreds to millions of resistors, capacitors, and transistors. It can work on analog or digital technology and can store data as well as make calculations.
