What is a primary key?

Primary key in a database is set of attributes that uniquely identifies a data or set of data.

For example in an organizational database. Employee name or Employee age can not be a primary identifier as 2 employees can have the same name or age but Employee Id is a primary key as 2 employees can not have the same Id number.
