\rightarrow A space wave travels in a straight line from transmitting antenna to the receiving antennae

\rightarrow The curvature of the earth and large height required for receiving antennae are limiting factors.

R^{2}+d{_{T}}^{2}=(h_{T}+R)^{2}+R^{2}

d{_{T}}^{2}= h_{T}^{2}+2h{_{T}}{R}+R^{2}

Since 2h{_{T}}{R}>>h{_{T}}^{2}

d{_{T}}^{2}= 2h{_{T}}{R}

Similarly d{_{R}}^{2}=2h_{R}R

d_{m}=d_{T}+d_{R}=\sqrt{2h_{T}R}+\sqrt{2h_{R}R}
