Features :
(i) Old technology and traditional implements are used.
(ii) Most of the food production is consumed by the farmers and their families.
(iii) Agricultural fields are small and farmers possess scattered land holdings.
(iv) Where facilities like electricity and irrigation are available farming has improved.
