When are the non-flowering plants said to be homothallic and monoecious; and heterothallic and dioecious ? Give an example of each.

Homothallic and monoecious: This is a bisexual condition when the plant has both male and female reproductive structures on the same plant, eg. Chara and several fungi.

Heterothallic and dioecious: This is a unisexual condition when the plant has either male or female reproductive structures present in different plants, for example : Marchantia
