Coherent sources are required to ensure that the position of minima and maxima do not change.

\frac{A_{1}}{A_{2}}=\sqrt{\frac{I_{1}}{I_{2}}}

        =\sqrt{\frac{4}{9}}=\frac{2}{3}

A_{max}=A_{1}+A_{2}=5 \; units

A_{min}=A_{2}-A_{1}=1 \; units

\frac{I_{max}}{I_{min}}=\frac{A^{2}_{max}}{A_{min}^{2}}=\frac{25}{1}
