Why it is written object in the mirror are closer than they appear on a rearview mirror

Answers (1)

Rearview mirror is a convex mirror, The image formed by a convex mirror is always erect and diminished. So the driver feels that the objects are far from him than the original distances. To convey the driver that the object is close to him the message "object in the mirror are closer than they appear" is written on the mirror.
