Why two strands of DNA are not identical but are complimentary to each other

Answers (1)

The two strands are complementary since the nitrogen bases of the nucleotide can form the hydrogen bond with the complementary base only and not the same base. Adenine bonds with thymidine and guanine bonds with cytosine. Hene the two strands are complementary so that they remain stuck together by hydrogen bonds between the nitrogen bases of the two strands.
