# Write the range of wavelength of the following electromagnetic radiations:(a) Infrared rays(b) Ultraviolet rays(c) $\gamma$- rays

(a) Infrared rays

(i) Range of wavelength - 700nm to 1 mm

USE:-

Electronic devices like semiconductor LEDs emit infrared and are widely used in remote switches of household electronic systems such as TV sets, video recorders and Wi-fi systems.

(b) Ultraviolet rays

(i) Range of wavelength -

$6\times 10^{-10}m$ to $4\times 10^{-7}m$

USE:-

These rays are used in eye surgeries like LASIK and are also used to kill germs in water purifiers.

(c) $\gamma$ - rays (Gamma rays)

(i) Range of wavelength

$10^{-10}m\ to\ 10^{-14}nm$

USE:-

These rays are used in medicine to destroy cancer cells.
