As we have learned

Total Modulation Index -

If a carrier wave is modulated by several sine waves.

- wherein

Total Modulated Index

m_{t}= \sqrt{m_{1}^{2}+m_{2}^{2}}+...

 If a carrier wave is modulated with several sine wave , than the total modulation index is calculated as m = \sqrt{m _{1}^{2}+m_{2}^{2}+....+m_{n}^{2}}

Here m = \sqrt{(0.3)^2+(0.4)^2}

\sqrt{0.09+0.16}

\sqrt{0.25}= 0.5
