A light cylindrical vessel is kept on a horizontal surface. Area of base is A. A hole of cross-sectional area 'a' is made just at its bottom side. The minimum coefficient of friction necessary to prevent sliding the vessel due to the impact force of the emerging liquid is (a < < A) :
Option: 1 \frac{A}{2a}
Option: 2 None of these
Option: 3 \frac{2a}{A}
Option: 4 \frac{a}{A}

Reaction force due to the ejection of liquid

\begin{aligned} F=\rho a v^{2} &=\rho a(2 g h) \rightarrow(1) \\ f_{L}=\mu N &=\mu(m g) \\ &=\mu(\rho A h g) \rightarrow(2) \end{aligned}

To just prevent the sliding of the vessel

F= f_{L}

\begin{aligned} \rho a(2 g h) &=\mu(\rho A g h) \\ \mu &=\frac{2 a}{A} \end{aligned}

The correct option is (3)
