A radio can tune to any station in 6 \; \mathrm{MHz} to 10 \; \mathrm{MHz} band. The value of corresponding wavelength bandwidth will be :

Option: 1

\mathrm{4\; m}

Option: 2

\mathrm{20\: m}

Option: 3

\mathrm{30\: m}

Option: 4

\mathrm{50\: m}

Answers (1)

We know that,

\mathrm{c =f \lambda }

\mathrm{\lambda_1 =\frac{c}{f_1}=\frac{3 \times 10^8}{6 \times 10^6} }

\mathrm{\lambda_1 =50 \mathrm{~m} }

\mathrm{\lambda_2=\frac{c_2}{f_2} =\frac{3 \times 10^8}{10 \times 10^6} }

\mathrm{\lambda_2 =30 \mathrm{~m} }

\mathrm{Wavelength \: \: band=\Delta \lambda=\lambda_1-\lambda_2 \\ }

                                    \mathrm{=20 \: m }
Hence (2) is correct option.
