                V = I R,             where R is the resistance.

Step 1: Calculate the resistance of the wire: 
                R = \frac{V_{drop}}{I}

                R = \frac{8 V}{2 A}

                R = 4 \Omega

The resistance of the wire is 4 \Omega.
