A wire \mathrm{X} of length 50 \mathrm{~cm} carrying a current of 2 \mathrm{~A} is placed parallel to a long wire \mathrm{Y} of length 5 \mathrm{~m}. The wire \mathrm{Y}carries a current of 3 \mathrm{~A}. The distance between two wires is 5 \mathrm{~cm} and currents flow in the same direction. The force acting on the wire \mathrm{Y} is

Option: 1

1.2 \times 10^{-5} \mathrm{~N} directed towards wire \mathrm{X}

Option: 2

1.2 \times 10^{-4} \mathrm{~N} directed away from wire \mathrm{X}.

Option: 3

1.2 \times 10^{-4} \mathrm{~N} directed towards wire \mathrm{X}.

Option: 4

2.4 \times 10^{-5} \mathrm{~N} directed towards wire \mathrm{X}

\mathrm{\ell_{x}=50cm}

\mathrm{\ell_{Y}=500cm=5m}

The force acting on the wire \mathrm{Y} is equal and opposite to force acting on wire \mathrm{x}

\mathrm{i.e,F_X =F_Y }

\mathrm{F_X =B \: I\: \ell_x }

\mathrm{F_X =\left(\frac{\mu_0 i_y}{2 \pi r}\right) I_x\: \ell_x }

       \mathrm{=\frac{2 \times 10^{-7} \times 3 \times 2 \times 0.5}{5 \times 10^{-2}} }

\mathrm{F_Y=F_X =1.2 \times 10^{-5} \mathrm{~N}}

Like current carrying conductor attract each other

Hence 1 is correct option
