Are solids perfectly rigid?

Answers (1)

best_answer Solid bodies are not perfectly rigid. For example:- A rigid steel bar can be deformed when a sufficiently large external force is applied to it. And how much a body can be stretched or compressed, it depends on the elastic properties of materials, about which we are going to study in this chapter.
