Writing the equation of motions for two blocks,

\mathrm{mg}-\mathrm{T}=\mathrm{ma}
 \mathrm{T}=\mathrm{ma}
Adding these two we get,
 2 \mathrm{~T}=\mathrm{mg}
 \Longrightarrow \mathrm{T}=0.5 \mathrm{mg}=0.5 \times 1 \times 10=5 \mathrm{~N}
