\mathrm{4 \mathrm{r}=\sqrt{2} \mathrm{a},} where a is lattice constant\mathrm{2 \mathrm{r}=\frac{\sqrt{2} \mathrm{a}}{2}=\frac{\mathrm{a}}{\sqrt{2}}}

\mathrm{\mathrm{a}=2 \mathrm{r} \sqrt{2}=(2.54 \hat{\AA})(1.414)=3.59 \hat{\AA}}
