Five equal resistances each of value R are connected to form a network as shown in figure. Calculate the equivalent resistance of the network between the points B and D.

Option: 1

(\operatorname{Re} q)_{B D}=\frac{3}{2} R

Option: 2

(\operatorname{Re} q)_{B D}=\frac{5}{2} R

Option: 3

(\operatorname{Re} q)_{B D}=\frac{1}{2} R

Option: 4

(\operatorname{Re} q)_{B D}=\frac{7}{2} R

The circuit can be redrawn as in the figure.for points B and D,
resistance (P+R), G \text { an }(Q+S) are in parallel.
With P = Q = R = S = G = R
So, \frac{1}{(\operatorname{Req})_{B D}}=\frac{1}{2 R}+\frac{1}{2 R}+\frac{1}{R}
(\operatorname{Req})_{\mathrm{BD}}=\frac{1}{2} \mathrm{R}
