Given, modulation index = 60% = 0.6

\frac{\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{m}}}{\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{c}}}=\frac{0.6}{1}

Using componendo – dividendo, we can write

\begin{aligned} & \frac{\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{m}}+\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{c}}}{\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{m}}-\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{c}}}=\frac{0.6+1}{0.6-1}=\frac{1.6}{-0.4} \\ & \mathrm{~A}_{\mathrm{m}}+\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{c}}=\frac{1.6}{-0.4} \times\left(\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{m}}-\mathrm{A}_{\mathrm{c}}\right) \end{aligned}

=\frac{1.6}{-0.4} \times(-3)=12 \mathrm{~V}
