best_answer

\mathrm{\mathrm{CoCl}_{3} \cdot \mathrm{xNH}_{3}+\mathrm{AgNO}_{3} \longrightarrow \mathrm{AgCl} \downarrow}

Given that 1 equivalent of the complex precipitates 2 equivalents of \mathrm{AgCl}

Thus, the given complex has two Chloride ions outside of the co-ordination sphere.

So, the complex is

\mathrm{\mathrm{CoCl}_{3} \cdot 5 \mathrm{NH}_3=\left[\mathrm{Co}(\mathrm{NH_{3}})_{5} \mathrm{Cl}\right] \mathrm{Cl}_{2}}

The reaction with \mathrm{AgNO_3} is given below :

\mathrm{\left[\mathrm{Co}\left(\mathrm{NH}_{3}\right)_{5} \mathrm{Cl}\right] \mathrm{Cl}_{2}+\mathrm{AgNO}_{3} \longrightarrow \mathrm{\underset{(2~eq.)}{AgCl}} \downarrow}

Thus the value of \mathrm{x=5}

Hence answer is 5
