Given below are two statements. One is labelled as Assertion \mathbf{A} and the other is labelled as Reason \mathbf{R}.
Assertion A: Activated charcoal adsorbs \mathrm{SO}_{2} more efficiently than \mathrm{CH}_{4}.
Reason R: Gases with lower critical temperatures are readily adsorbed by activated charcoal.
In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below.

Option: 1

Both \mathbf{A}$ and $\mathbf{R} are correct and \mathbf{R} is the correct explanation of \mathbf{A}.

Option: 2

Both \mathbf{A}$ and $\mathbf{R} are correct but \mathbf{R} is NOT the correct explanation of \mathbf{A}.

Option: 3

\mathbf{A} is correct but \mathbf{R} is not correct.

Option: 4

\mathbf{A} is not correct but \mathbf{R} is correct.

Easily liquefiable gases with higher critical temperature are readily adsorbed as van der Waal's forces are stronger near the critical temperatures. Thus activated charcol adsorb more sulphur dioxide (critical temperatures 630 k) than methane (critical temperature 190 k).

\mathrm{A} is correct but \mathrm{R} is not correct.

Option (3) is correct.
