Eutrophication is a process due to which excessive growth of weed in water bodies takes place going to increase in pollution levels.

Eutrophication leads to decrease in amount of dissolved oxygen in water bodies.

As the amount of dissolved oxygen decreases , value of BOD [Biological oxygen demand] increase.
So statement I is false and statement II is true.

Hence option (D) is correct.
