Given below are two statements :

Statement-I: The reactance of an ac circuit is zero. It is possible that the circuit contains a capacitor and an inductor

Statement-II: In ac circuit, the average power delivered by the source never becomes zero.

In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below

Option: 1

Both Statement I and Statement II are true

Option: 2

Both Statement I and Statement II are false

Option: 3

 Statement I is true and Statement II is false

Option: 4

 Statement I is false and Statement II is true

statement 1
the reactance of an ac circuit is zero event though the circuit contain a capacitor and an inductor at series resonance

\mathrm{\left|x_{L}-x_{c}\right|=0}\Rightarrow \mathrm{x_{L}=x_{c}}

\rightarrow Therefore the first first statement is true.
statement 2
\rightarrow The average power delivered by the Source becomes zero for pure inductive or capacitive ckt
\rightarrow The sccond statement is false

The correct option is (3).
