As we learnt in

Dipole moment(µ) -

IT is vector sum of all the individual bond moments

\bullet \:Mathematically\:\mu =q\times d

   q=magnitude\:of\:charge

   d=distance\:between\:the\:centres\:of\:opposite\:charge

- wherein

It is denoted by a small arrow with a tail on the positive centre and head pointing towards negative centre

 Molecule                Type of interaction

 Benzene                 Vandin waal force

 Ethanol                   dipole- dipole interaction

Acetonitrite               dipole- dipole interaction

 KCI                          Ionic bond

H2O                       dipole - dipole interaction

CCI4                         Vandin waal force

Between Acetonitrite and Acetoe the force of intraction is dipole - dipole Interaction.

Dipoledipole interactions occur among the polar molecules. Polar molecules have permanent dipoles. The positive pole of one molecule is thus attracted by the negative pole of the other molecule. The magnitude of dipoledipole forces in different polar molecules is predicted on the basis of the polarity of the molecules, which in turn depends upon the electronegativities of the atoms present in the molecule and the geometry of the molecule ( in case of polyatomic molecules, containing more than two atoms in a molecule )
