Given that,

2-digit numbers can be formed using the digits 1 to 9 if no digits are repeated.

There will be many 2-digit numbers as there are permutations of 9 different digits.

Thus, the required 2-digit number is given by,

  ^9P_2=\frac{9!}{\left (9-2 \right )!}

^9P_2=\frac{9!}{7!}  

  ^9P_2=9\times 8

^9P_2=72  

Therefore, the different number of ways the 2-digit number is formed is 72 ways.
