Thus, the required number of ways to choose a secretary ad a representative is,

 ^9P_2=\frac{9!}{\left (9-2 \right )!} 

 ^9P_2=\frac{9!}{7!}

 ^9P_2=9\times 8 

 ^9P_2=72

Therefore, the required number of ways is 72 ways.
