Time lost in covering the distance of 2 km by the sound waves

t = \frac{d}{v} = \frac{2000}{330} = 6.06 sec \approx 6 sec

 

Effect of wind -

As the sound is carried by air so its speed is affected by the wind velocity. Suppose the wind is blowing with a speed V_{\omega } at an angle \Theta with direction of propagation of the sound.

V= V\pm V_{\omega }\cos \Theta

V_{\omega }= speed of wind
