A catalyst does not affect the equilibrium state of reaction, it just speeds up the reaction. A catalyst lowers the activation energy of both forward and backward reaction. Further, the large activation energy of a reaction causes lowering of the reaction rate. 

However, the Maxwell’s distribution of velocities changes under all condition of temperature and pressure.
